Taste of the coffee

With the GujiBrew #2, you can make a full-bodied espresso that is still low in acidity. The coffee has a very rich and clean flavour with notes of dark chocolate. This strong espresso also makes an excellent base for drinks such as a cappuccino or flat white. The coffee's bold flavour pairs perfectly with milk.

Use of this coffee

GujiBrew #2 is excellent for use in semi-automatic and fully automatic espresso machines to make bold espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc.
This coffee is also suitable for larger black coffees such as caffè lungo, Americano, or long black. However, if you mainly drink larger coffees, we recommend the lighter roast GujiBrew #1 for a more refined flavor.

Origin of the coffee

This coffee comes from the Guji region in Ethiopia and is grown at an altitude of 1900 to 2300 meters. It is a heirloom coffee, which means it is a mix of naturally occurring Arabica varieties. The coffee is naturally processed. The coffee cherries are dried whole, and the beans are removed afterwards. This processing method contributes to the rich, smooth flavor of this coffee.

Ecology

GujiBrew coffee is grown in Ethiopia in the natural forests of Guji, without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers. The coffee was purchased directly by the Dutch importer, ensuring that the coffee farmers received a fair price for their coffee.

On top of that, Danvi invests in reforestation around the world through a project in Peru that is run by the local population and a foundation in the Netherlands. For every 5 kilos of coffee we sell, we donate the planting and maintenance of 1 tree to this project.

A pressurised filter basket is a filter basket with built-in resistance that allows water to flow through slowly regardless of the grind size. Such a filter basket is usually recognisable by its double bottom, with many holes visible on the inside across the entire bottom and only a few holes visible on the outside.
